Perseus Slaying Medusa - unpainted

Perseus and the Gorgon is by French artist Laurent Marqueste made between 1875 and 1903.

Perseus was tricked into agreeing to slay Medusa by Polydectes, who hosted a banquet in which every guest was supposed to bring a horse as a gift. Perseus had no horse to give, and offered to give Polydectes whatever else he wanted. Polydectes instructed Perseus to kill Medusa, who was a much-feared monster. Medusa was pregnant by Poseidon. When Perseus beheaded her, Pegasus, a winged horse, and Chrysaor, a giant wielding a golden sword, sprang from her body.

PLEASE NOTE: His sword is a short blade and much shorter than the original

PAINTING/FINISHING

I prefer to paint my work with a spray primer. This ensures a good adhesion between paint and painted surface. You can then apply a spray finish or brush painted finish.
